Walking can boost your energy, reduce your stress levels, lower your blood pressure, raise your HDL (good) cholesterol and reduce your risk of diabetes and osteoporosis. It's a great way to lose weight, and the faster you walk, the more you burn.
If you do a 15-minute mile, for example, you will burn a little more than five calories a minute. Do the five-mile circuit on the map, and at that rate, you will burn about 375 calories.
Our parks, beaches, and open spaces are part of what makes living in Glencoe so special. The gift of a park bench, picnic table, or tree is a great way to honor a loved one or celebrate a memorable occasion while supporting the Glencoe Park District. Help us by making a donation.
In order to provide safe, accessible, and entertaining parks for all, please abide by the following regulations. Failure to do so may result in expulsion, fine, and/or arrest.
